Valentine Kids Party Game Idea: “Guess What Candy is in the Bag” Game!

Bags are offered as free printables in our Free Printables Valentine Section.

Valentine Kids Party Game Idea:  "Guess What Candy is in the Bag" Game!

Gather Valentine candies small enough to fit loosely into the Valentine candy bag. Easiest & cheapest way to do this is buy an assorted bag of small individually wrapped Valentine candies for kids.

Valentine Candy Ideas:  (Hint: Print and assemble a test bag to make sure each candy fits in the bag. Then print as many bags as you need, one bag per item.)

Candy Suggestions

Candy Hearts

Chocolate Kisses

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Red & Pink Jelly Beans

Gummy Hearts Valentine's Candy

Candy bracelets

Brach's Valentine Nougats

Conversation Hearts Candy

Jolly Rancher Valentine Pops

Junior Mints Heart Shaped Candy

Gobstopper Hearts

Sweet Tart Hearts

If you prefer not to use candy, then other small Valentine items that fit loosely inside the bag will work. You could use small Valentine decorations such as hearts, cupid, arrows, etc.

Depending on how many Valentine candy types you have decided to use, print the same number of bags. (Optional: You can print a variety of bags offered at Moms Break to have different bags for different candies.) Assemble the bags and before inserting the items, write a number on each bag. Then make a list of what is in each bag (such as, Bag #1: Jolly Rancher Valentine Pops, Bag #2: Chocolate Kisses). This will be the "answer key" to use at the end of the game.

Put the one item(s) in each bag; add a small bit of cotton (pull apart a cotton ball), or shredded paper in the bag and seal. This will make it harder for the kids to guess what in the bag.

At the Valentine party or classroom party give each guest a piece of paper and pen. Pass the bags around, one at a time, and have each child write down their guess of what is in the bag. * This is also a fun game to play at home with your kids for Valentines Day!

After all the bags are passed around and everyone has written down their guesses, use the answer key to call out the item in each bag. Have the guests (children) score their own guesses. The game winner is the person who has the most correct guesses.

As an alternative, have enough candy bags for each child to win a few bags. Have the children get in a circle, then have the children take turns going to the center of the room where game host will be seated to hand out bags, one bag to each. If the child can guess what in the bag, he or she can keep it. If not, then the next child comes into the circle to guess what's in the bag. (Hint: If a one or more of the children {guests} is having trouble winning a bag, make sure to hand them something easy to guess like a Hersey's chocolate kiss.) To shorten the game, after each child has won a bag or two simply pass out the rest of the bags as prizes for other games or party favors.
